Dear Parent/Guardian,

 

 

Enclosed is a registration packet which includes a registration form, the GWCRS Tuition Policy and Contract, a FACTS Management flyer, a Title 1 Survey for your child for the 2017-2018 academic year.  Please complete these forms and return them with both copies of our registration form, the signed tuition contract and the registration fee to your child’s school by Friday, February 17th.  Please note that a signed tuition contract must be returned with your other registration material as well as the fee to complete the registration process.

From today, January 27th to February 17th is our in-house registration period which is only for our currently enrolled students.  After this in-house time period is done, no spaces are guaranteed so it is very important that you complete the registration for your currently enrolled child during this time period. After February 17th, any open seats will be filled with new students.  Once a class is filled, students may be placed on a waiting list.

 

As per GWCRSS Policy:  Parents may send in registration forms for siblings during the in-house registration period.  Sibling registrations will be considered for acceptance after February 17th, and filled only as space is available on a first come-first served basis.  Siblings are entitled to spots available before new students are accepted.

 

Our non-refundable registration fees for students in grades Pre-K to Grade 8 are as follows:

 

$125 for the first child

$115 for the second child

$100 for the third child

The family maximum is $340

 

Our tuition for Grades K – 8 is $5525.00 for the 2017-2018 school year or $552.50 per month for a 10 month payment plan.  We also offer an 11 month plan ($502.28 per month) and 12 month plan ($460.42 per month) which allows for smaller monthly payments.

 

In keeping with our mission and to help families with multiple children in Grades K-8, the Greater Woonsocket Catholic Regional School System will continue to offer a 5% discount for the second child and a 10% discount for the third and subsequent children.

 

Automated Payment Systems (APS) will continue to be the company that we contracted to provide tuition billing services for families with children in Grades K-8. NEW beginning with the billing for 2017-2018 there will no longer be the monthly coupon book option. The only two options will be “Pay in Full by August 1st with a $125.00 discount per child (after any financial aid) or the automatic withdrawal option from your statement savings or checking account. (Informational packets with the authorization form will be sent to families in the spring.) The automatic payment option (EFT) will allow you to have your payments withdrawn on the 5th or 20th of each month.  Our Pre-K billing is done in-house directly through our Regional Office.

 

To enroll in our Early Childhood Academy (Pre-K 3 year old and Pre-K 4year old programs) a child must be 3 or 4 years old by September 1, 2017.  For Kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2017.

 

Our Pre-K tuition for the 2017 -18 school year (paid in ten monthly installments from August 1st – May 1st) is as follows:

Tuesday & Thursday               $1800.00         ($180.00 per month)

Monday-Wednesday-Friday   $2700.00         ($270.00 per month)  

Monday through Friday          $4400.00         ($440.00 per month)  

Full Day

Tuesday & Thursday               $2400.00         ($240.00 per month)

Monday-Wednesday-Friday   $3600.00         ($360.00 per month)

Monday through Friday          $5800.00         ($580.00 per month)

 

 

We will continue to offer Free before school care for children beginning at 7:30AM at both our schools. Parents have found this to be very convenient and helpful.

 

Our Extended Day Program is open to Pre-K (full day students) to Grade 6 (transportation from Good Shepherd to Msgr. Gadoury provided at a nominal cost).  Although we try very hard to accommodate all families, the program has limited space capability and fills quickly.  Acceptance is based on space availability.  Priority registration (until June 15th) is given to the families with children that are currently attending the Program, with open registrations for all families beginning July 1st.  If you are interested in our Extended Day Program, please call the GWCRS Regional Office for information.

 

The GWCRSS has a continued commitment to our families to be fiscally responsible.  Thus, every year we review our staffing and classroom needs and base those needs on our enrollment in each school.  This enables us to use our tuition dollars effectively.  Basically, this means the number of classes per grade could change year to year.

 

I encourage all families to apply for tuition assistance through the many programs offered including the Diocese of Providence scholarship grants, the GWCRSS Scholarships or parish financial aid.  In order to do so you must complete and submit the FACTS Grant and Aid application on-line at: https:online.factsmgt.com.  Please note one FACTS application per family.  The application fee is $30.00.  Although you can apply later, it is best to complete your application by the Diocese of Providence deadline of February 17, 2017 in order to qualify for any possible diocesan awards.  Since all applications must be completed on-line, please call FACTS (1-866-412-4637) or the Regional Office with any questions.  We are here to help!

 

 

 

 

During the 2016-2017 school year the Greater Woonsocket Catholic Regional School System’s parents received a total of $155,185 in assistance:

                 $36,047 – Diocese of Providence

                 $86,075 – Parish Subsidy (Please check with your parish for subsidy requirements)

                 $33,063 – GWCRSS Tuition Assistance Scholarships

 

Our Open House dates are scheduled at Monsignor Gadoury on January 29th from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and at Good Shepherd on Sunday, February 5th from 11:15 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  There is also a special information session on February 8th from 6:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. for all parents of students currently enrolled in Grade 2 that will be attending Grade 3 at Good Shepherd next year. Please encourage your family and friends with school age children to visit our schools, meet the faculty, and learn more about our special and unique schools. You are our best form of advertising by telling your family and friends about all of the wonderful things about our school system and all of the programs we offer! I have also enclosed a Family Referral Incentive form in this packet. If you refer a new family to the GWCRS and the child is successfully enrolled for the upcoming school year, in September your tuition account will be credited $100.00 for the referral! To qualify for the incentive credit, a completed referral form must be received at the Regional Office before the new student is accepted.
